Smart Urban Mobility with Sustainable Investments

Endorsed & Supported By

Mobility is a vital ingredient in the development, growth and prosperity of our Nation and roads are going to be the pillars for bringing transformational changes in infrastructure of India. India has close to seven lakh buses operating in the country with roughly 1.5 Lakh being operated by more than 60 State Transport Undertakings (STU). The transport corporations operate through approximately 3,000 terminals across the nation. Public transport is the predominant mode of motorized travel in Mega cities. Buses carry 20% to 65% of the total amount of passengers and are now demanding improved comfort levels, safety and environmental friendliness.

Indian cities are fast emerging as engines of economic growth with an estimated 60% of the country's GDP originating from the urban areas. Exponential growth is expected not only in existing metropolitan areas, but also in the innovative form of 100 new 'Smart Cities'. This rapid growth presents a huge opportunity to create more sustainable and livable cities. This platform will endeavor latest trends on enhancement of communication, services with improved on board information, station security, safety, and facilities for passengers, while STU's and Bus Owners will benefit from resource mobilization using innovative business models for safety and security of their assets.

BDCTS is committed to leveraging the implementation and follow-up of all state agendas at local and national level. The event aims to be the place to collectivize urban power, to increase the strength of cities, to identify business opportunities, to establish partnerships and contribute to enacting common policies and act as a meeting point for governments, companies, entrepreneurs and research centers to tackle on going challenges through a comprehensive plan and an integrated transport strategy for India.
